Activate Saplings are pumped to bring you our second ever tree-planting festival created for and by the next generation of environmental stewards! A weekend of partying and camping await โ€“ but the best bit? 36,000 TREES are the VIPโ€™S of this party ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ

The seedlings have been lovingly grown in Parnell nursery and were generously funded by State NRM Community Stewardship Grant. With the support of Trillion Trees, Activate Tree Planting and your very own hands weโ€™ll put these seedlings where they belong, on Wiilman Noongar Boodja, over three days full of food, community, music and dancing.

Please note!!!!
This Activate event has a slightly different flavourโ€ฆ.
This event is run by young adults aimed at empowering and inspiring young adults! All are welcome, but be aware there are no dedicated childrenโ€™s activities, supervision, early dinners, or quiet zones etc. The partying will go โ€˜til late ๐Ÿ˜‰

Letโ€™s goooo!

๐ŸŒฟWHO ARE THE SAPLINGS?๐ŸŒฟ
Activate Saplings are the youth division of Activate Tree Planting. Our core crew is a bunch of twenty-somethings who are totally sold on the Activate festival model and its mission and values. Guided by the Activate Tree Planting leaders and elders, the Saplings are learning the ropes of organising Activate festivals. Our aim is to involve, connect with and inspire young people just like us with the Activate mission, vision and energy โ€“ to plant seeds of hope for our future through a festival of celebration and connection to place.

๐ŸŒฟPLANTING FOR THE FUTURE๐ŸŒฟ
Angus Armstrong is a local farmer concerned about the impact of extensive clearing on the land. He has welcomed Activate before to his family farm to build on his own efforts creating ecological corridors that connect remnant bushland areas, restoring the health of the land and expanding much-needed habitat for native fauna. A carefully selected variety of salt-tolerant native species have been grown especially for us to plant at this event to restore creek buffer areas and valley flats. ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ

๐ŸŒฟVIBES FOR DAYS๐ŸŒฟ
A special live musical experience is being curated with acts from local musicians of diverse genres. Each night you can listen to the music from your spot round the fire or dance in the open air. On Sunday night we have our big party night to celebrate getting all those trees in the ground, so be ready to dance! Itโ€™s also entirely acceptable to bring your instruments for a campfire jam session ๐Ÿ˜€ The music doesnโ€™t stop there โ€“ whatโ€™s a DJ to do while weโ€™re out planting trees!? Come and find outโ€ฆ โ›บ๏ธ ๐ŸŒ  ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™‚๏ธ ๐Ÿช˜

๐ŸŒฟWHATโ€™S COOKING?๐ŸŒฟ
The real heroes of the festival – our Kitchen Wizards and Witches – are preparing all hot meals and snacks to boot! Fresh, healthy, nourishing meals made with love and eaten togetherโ€ฆ thereโ€™s nothing better to fuel us through the weekend. ๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿฅฃ๐Ÿฅ˜

๐ŸŒฟCREATING NOT CONSUMING๐ŸŒฟ
The best thing about Activate is the people! Weโ€™re not just here to consume an experience but to do a thing and connect with each other. Participate in community, dance with new friends, yarn around the campfire, stretch out under the stars, listen to the trees, connect with nature. We are lining up some cool activities this year including the opportunity to work with wood to create some beautiful take-home memories. ๐Ÿ–Œ๐ŸŽพ๐Ÿฅพ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land where this event is held and recognise their continued custodianship and connection to the land, waters and community. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders of all communities who also work and live on this land.
